Introduction to Human-Centered Design course project, our group of four decided on a theme of a healthy eating App design. We decided to locate pain points of office workers who cares about their health by interviewing on their living habits and experiences, then further design an App that fits their needs.
Expending on the question "How might we provide healthier food options for people in need?", we deconstructed the keywords and brain-stormed multiple TA, lastly, decided on setting our topic as "How might we provide healthier food options for office workers who lives away from home?", and narrowed down the age range to 22 to 35.
We interviewed 13 people according to our outline, which consists of personal details (eating habits), cooking motivation and setbacks, eat-out preferences, and plans for their health. Then we draw the following conclusion:
1. Most of the people who cook value their health greatly.
2. Problem with food preparation: Buying more than needed (having a hard time calculating the proportion)/ lack of options (always cooking the same dishes)
3. Inconvenience: Not having the right equipments (limited by the appliances)/ personal status (too tired to cook)
"Snails" are how people address those who rents houses away from their homes.
A snail carrying a tomato symbolizes that the "snails" are still eating healthy even under limited conditions, urging them to take a break from their busy life, slow down and enjoy a nutritious meal!
